Medium Shot
Medium Shot is a series that focuses on the body and psyche as an integrated whole, placing the human figure in relation to its surrounding space in order to convey a more complete sense of both physical and psychological states. The series draws on the function of the medium shot in cinema, which presents the human figure in relation to its immediate environment, while translating this cinematic framing into a painterly language. As in my previous series, the process of making these works is shaped by a personal, perfectionistic, and obsessive approach. The paintings undergo a continuous cycle of construction, destruction, and reconstruction, ultimately resulting in works that retain a sense of incompleteness or appear, at first glance, to be unfinished. My enduring fascination with the human body, Western classical art, and Persian painting, particularly the Shiraz School, continues to leave its traces throughout the process of creating these works.
